Tehran – In the aftermath of the U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, a senior official from Iran’s state broadcasting authority stated that the targeted sites did not contain any materials that could cause radioactive contamination, according to Iran’s official news agency IRNA.
The unnamed official emphasized that the facilities hit by the American strikes were free of any sensitive or radioactive nuclear substances at the time of the attack, and assured that public safety and the environment remain unaffected.
The statement comes amid heightened international concern following U.S. strikes on Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan — key locations in Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. The strikes were confirmed by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who announced the operation on social media and praised its success.
According to Reuters, advanced B-2 stealth bombers were involved in the strikes, signaling a high-level precision operation.
Iran’s announcement appears aimed at calming both domestic and international fears over the potential for a nuclear disaster or radioactive fallout. So far, there has been no official confirmation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regarding the condition of the targeted facilities.
As global attention intensifies, international observers are calling for transparency and restraint to prevent further escalation between Washington and Tehran.
